Hold on to clients and attract new ones
Clients would always want to know why they should ignore your competitors and work with you. Clearly, you’re not the only one selling such service or product and you’re most likely not the best of your competitors. So, what makes you special or better than them? Today I’ve got 5 tips to help you stand out from the crowd.
Most times due to economic issues, most businesses tend to do everything in their field in order to reach out to as many clients as possible. In the end, they’ll likely lose their focus. Here’s my advice – Pick something specific, go the extra mile on it, study the business, your market and your competitors, be innovative and creative, brand it and sell it. Easier said than done, right? Truth is, it’s not easy at all. Just try it. Take out the unnecessary weight in your business and move with the golden egg.
2. Check out the best in your line of business
It doesn’t matter the level your business has attained or the country it’s located, if you have to sort through the world’s business record to find the crème de la crème in your line of business, then do it. Study them properly, their history, business strategy and emulate them. Now don’t get me wrong and go about doing the silly copy and paste thing a lot of people do. Learn from their history, study their business strategy, find loopholes in it and adjust all you’ve learned to fit your business and your market.
Note this: One satisfied customer could be your magnet. Treat every client like your only client and give them the best quality of your service. Be patient and absolutely honest with clients and in no time, they’ll help you blow your trumpet
4. Discounts and Promos
If you can, give as much discount as you can afford. Be generous to your clients once in a while or randomly do promos or special offers in addition to your service. A lot of clients would like to get more for less and would likely try out a competitor who has such offers and maybe stick with them. So try something, from discounts to giveaways or from movie tickets to shopping coupons. You could even try hosting a party for clients only. Valentine’s around the corner, you can start with that.
No one wants to redo their plumbing or roof and find out in 6 months that something is leaking. Every client wants an assurance that your service works perfectly and if something goes wrong, you’re ready to bear the cost of dealing with it. If you cannot issue a warranty, say 6 months, 1 year or 2, most clients would turn to your competitor that can assure them of one. It’s not always fun but the truth is, if you’re sure that the services you provide are up to standard or as extraordinary as you claim, you should be able to assure your clients via warranty that your service/product is standard.
There are definitely more tips out there to help your business stand out. These are what I call baby steps. Try them and see how far your business would go. Thank me later.
