How To Fold Your Suit In A Suitcase While Traveling

One of the most tedious tasks that coming with traveling is packing. You have to ensure everything you need enters your suitcase without having to carry all the boxes in your house. It becomes more tricky when you have to pack a suit.

If you have a generous enough suitcase, you can take your suit on a hanger, put it in a suit travel bag and fold it halfway at the waist, lay it on top of your other items and you’re good to go. But if you do not want to travel with a garment bag. It becomes a chore figuring out how to travel with your suit without it getting all wrinkled up.

How To Fold Your Suit In A Suitcase While Traveling

1. Lay suit facedown on a flat surface.

2. Fold left shoulder back.

3. Turn right shoulder inside out, then tuck left shoulder into the right.

4. Fold in half lengthwise and then fold horizontally.

5; Place folded jacket in center of outstretched trousers.

6. Fold trouser bottoms over the jacket and repeat with the top of trousers.


Make sure you don’t put heavy items like shoes or a laptop on top of your folded suit as they could put pressure on those folds. The best thing to do is to put your folded suit into a bag and lay it inside of the lid of your suitcase. Most suitcases have a separate container on the back of their lid specifically for tailoring, use it.

Once you arrive at your destination, unpack your suit and hang it up on a nice, wide hanger to let it settle back into shape.
