Making smoothies are as simple as reciting the alphabets. But even this simple process also has dos and dont’s.
Do’s & Don’ts Of Making Smoothies- Almighty Formula
- Do not throw everything into the blender. The carefree method of piling everything into your blender can ruin your smoothie. Measure the ingredients and ensure a good solid-to-liquid ratio.
- Use Greek yogurt or coconut milk. Greek yogurt provides a boost of protein, while light coconut milk adds a hit of rich flavor and creamy texture.
- If you need a protein-rich smoothie, a small dose of peanut butter or a tablespoon of flaxseed is a healthy way of adding protein to a smoothie.
- Avoid using protein powders. Protein powders are often filled with highly processed ingredients more suitable for bulking up.

- Avoid adding sugar to your smoothie in any form, whether it comes from canned fruit or flavored yogurt. Sugar will do little to satiate hunger, and you’re likely to crash later in the day.
- Fresh or frozen fruits should naturally sweeten your smoothie, but if you need an extra dose, try adding beets or dates.
- Avoid a second serving. If you are using a smoothie as a meal replacement just take one serving. Another would just build up the sugar and calories.
- To keep you feeling full long after your smoothie, try adding ingredients such as avocado or oats. Both are great sources of fiber.
- Herbs, spices, and extracts can make a world of difference. Freshly grated ginger adds a warming touch of flavor to your smoothie.
