Finally! Guardiola wins EPL Manager of the Month award
Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has received the Premier League Manager of the Month gong for the first time since taking charge of City in the summer.
Guardiola beat out Chelsea’s Antonio Conte, Manchester United’s Jose Mourinho and West Brom’s Tony Pulis to be named the EPL’s top boss for February.
The ex Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach won February’s award after City won all three of their league matches against West Ham, Swansea City and Bournemouth scoring eight goals and conceding one.
The Spaniard’s wins ensures he avoids the ignominy of not securing the award in his debut season and ends the year-and-a-half for a City managers since Manuel Pellegrini’s in August 2015.
On the players front Harry Kane becomes the third Tottenham players to claim the Player of the Month award after Dele Alli and Son.
Kane’s fired his way to the top of the goalscorers chart with 4 goals in 3 matches to take his tally to 19 and his goal scoring form extended to the FA Cup with a hat trick against Fulham in the round of 16.
