UCL: Vardy’s first goal for the year gives Leicester massive lifeline
Premier League champions Leicester City lost their round of 16 first leg to Sevilla 2-1 but the tie remains perfectly poised ahead of a return leg with Jamie Vardy finding the back of the net for the first time since December to give the Foxes a lifeline.
A goal in either half left Sevilla were looking most likely to progress after overcoming an early setback with Kasper Schmeichel denying Angel Correa from the penalty spot.
However the Foxes scored against the run of play in the 73rd minute to give themselves a foothold when Sevilla roll up at the King Power.
Elsewhere, Porto were down to ten men early in the first half with left back Alex Telles booked twice in the space of two minutes. The visitors Juventus began knocking and just when it was looking like Porto would keep them out they succumbed to a pair of late goals from Pjaca and Dani Alves.
