Toure warns fans not to get too excited about Gabriel Jesus
Yaya Toure has warned Manchester City fans not to get “too excited” about Gabriel Jesus following a bright start to life at the Etihad that has seen the youngster net thrice in his first four games.
The 19-year-old Brazilian forward signed from Palmeiras for a reported £27m in the summer, but did not join his new club until January after the conclusion of the Brazilian Championship which he won.
“He is a very good player; very quick, sharp and clever. We realise we have to be careful, though, and we shouldn’t get too excited because he has to be focused,” Sky Sports News quotes the midfielder as saying.
“What we want to do is just continue to keep going and, at the end of the season, we can talk about him.”
Sergio Aguero has been relegated to a spot on the bench for two games in a row while Kelechi Iheanacho has failed to make the matchday squad for City’s last three highlighting the Brazilian’s sudden importance to the side.
City currently sit third in the Premier League table, 10 points adrift of leaders Chelsea.
