Obi Emelonye To Immortalize Babangida In A Movie

TNS  reports that Nollywood filmmaker, Obi Emelonye is set to commence production for “Badamasi”, a film which will chronicle the life of former Nigerian military leader, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.
Pre-production for Badamasi is scheduled to begin in March 2017 and will last until June 2017. Obi Emelonye is known for movies like ‘Last Flight To Abuja’, ‘Mirror Boy’ etc. He says “This journey started in 2013 when I watched Mandela. As I watched it, I felt proud as an African.” “As Nigerians, we have several historical figures who haven’t been immortalized on the big and small screens for the world to see,” he continued.


According to the filmmaker, the film will reveal many of the “darkest” events in the life of Babangida. Badamasi may be released into Nigerian cinemas on October 1, 2017.
