President Muhammadu Buhari has commissioned three war ships and 27 patrol boats at the Nigerian Naval Dockyard in Lagos state.
One of the war ships commissioned was said to be imported, while the two others were built locally.
President Buhari, who was received by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, accompanied by the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola and some Army chiefs.
Commissioning the war ships, the president said the government will continue to provide necessary resources for the Nigerian Navy and other security bodies, to carry out their responsibility.
He said the ships has created a strong bond between Nigeria and China, adding that the maritime security is responsible for the nation’s well being.
