Banking in the euphoria of the resounding ovation that greeted the premiere of his comedy film, ATM (Authentic Tentative Marriage) which was released in May, this year, Lancelot Imasuen has set the ball rolling, planning ahead of time, as 2017 beckons.
Lancelot Imasuen The popular film director has lined up a lot of viable projects that will keep him busy throughout the coming year. Though the celebrated film director admits that the outgoing year 2016 , has been eventful for him, he’s, however, optimistic that the coming year will be more eventful and rewarding than the outgoing year.
According to him, he will start off the new year, by attending the Denton Black Film Festival, in the United States, where his comedy film, ATM, has been selected for screening on the 29th of January, 2017. Thereafter, he hopes to proceed to Dallas and Houston for the premiere of the movie, after which he will storm Toronto, Canada and rounds off the tour in London, where the British audience will be privileged to see their girl, Princess Oyigbo speaks impeccable pidgin English to their admiration. Lancelot also disclosed that the same year, he will commence the production of his latest film, in addition to establishing a film school better known as Benin Film Institute, which he wants to run in partnership with the Igbenedion University.
He equally wants to set up Okada international film festival, which he said will hold next year in Benin. Commenting on how he fared in 2016, Lancelot described the outgoing was quite a great year for me, adding that even though “I didn’t have major production this year, the outgoing year has been eventful for me. Starring Yvonne Jegede, Francis Odega, and social media comedian and Nigerian culture enthusiast, Oyinbo Princess whose real name is Claire Edun, ATM which won the Best comedy Film at the just concluded Abuja International Film Festival and now nominated for two awards at the forthcoming Best of Nollywood awards, tells the story of a young greedy man (Alexx Ekubo) who in order to make his life better got entangled into a love scam with social media comedian and Nigerian culture enthusiast Oyinbo Princess (Claire Edun).
