Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has planned to announce the remaining constituencies’ result of Saturday’s legislative rerun election in Rivers State, including Akuku-Toru state constituency on Tuesday.
The Electoral umpire had released result for most of the seats contested on Saturday.
The commission`s national commissioner in charge of the south-south states, Mustapha Lecky said PDP’s Osinakachukwu Ideozu won the election for Rivers West Senatorial District while his PDP colleague, George Sekibo won that of Rivers East. Magnus Abe of the APC won in Rivers South-East Senatorial District.
Also released are the results for the House of Representatives seats where APC’s Barinada Mpigi won for Tai/Eleme/Oyigbo Constituency.
Another APC candidate Maurice Pronen won that of Khana/Gokana Constituency while Chidi Wihioka also of the APC won the Ikwerre/Emohua Constituency seat.
PDP’s Boma Goodhead won that of Akuku-Toru/Asari-Toru Constituency.
For the State House of Assembly seats, PDP’s Greenville Wellington won that of Asari-Toru Constituency One and Enemi George also of the PDP won of Asari-Toru Constituency Two.
The Bonny Constituency seat went to PDP’s Abinye Pepple while Josiah Orlu of the APC won that of Eleme Constituency.
The APC won Khana Constituency two after Friday Nkee was declared winner. Also Azubuike Wanjoku of the APC won Ikwerre Constituency.
Meanwhile, INEC has approved fresh collation of results for Andoni state constituency.
The commission was unable announce result in the area following disagreement by both PDP and APC over the choice of collation center.
At the end of INEC’s consultative meeting with stakeholders of both parties on Monday night, it was agreed that collation be done afresh to satisfy all parties.
