19-year-old Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico has emerged Miss World 2016, beating 116 contestants in the 66th edition of the pageant held yesterday at the MGM National Habour, Oxon Hill, Maryland, USA.
Yaritza Miguelina Reyes Ramírez of the Dominican Republic was the first runner-up, followed by Natasha Mannuela of Indonesia.
With this achievement by Del Valle, she has made Puerto Rico the 17th country with multiple winners since Miss World began in 1951. She is still a student and is fluent in Spanish, French and English.
Other countries which have also produced multiple winners include the United Kingdom (5), Jamaica (3), the United States (3) and Australia (2).
