YouTube Adding Ability to Live Stream Video to Its Android, iOS Apps

YouTube has announced it will be adding live streaming feature to its Android and iOS apps.
Kurt Wilms, Product Lead, Immersive Experiences at YouTube, when announcing the new move said: “Today, we are announcing a new chapter in bringing the power of live video to creators everywhere. Soon, we’ll be putting the power of YouTube live streaming in the palm of your hands.”

This move is coming at a time when Facebook is aggressively promoting its live streaming feature, and can be seen as YouTube’s way of intercepting the flow.

The live streaming feature is not new to YouTube, as it had added it to its platform since 2011.

However, the move to bring it home to users by adding it to mobile apps is a huge way to promote the use of it.
