Jermaine Jackson’s third wife, Halima Rashid has filed for divorce.
The divorce petition was filed on Tuesday, and she cited “irreconcilable differences,” while listing November 28, 2015 as the date of separation.
The date corresponds with the day she was arrested for domestic violence after biting the singer’s leg, and she was charged with felony corporal injury and released on $50,000 bail.
However, the case was dropped as prosecutors said they couldn’t determine who the aggressor was in the fight.
In her divorce petition, Halima, who has no child for the 61-year-old singer, requested for spousal support.
Jermaine married Halima in 2004 in what was his third marriage.
His first marriage with Hazel Gordy, daughter of Motown founder Berry Gordy, gave him four children, and he also had two sons from a former partner Margaret Maldonado.
He married Alejandra Genevieve Oiaza as his second wife and they had three children.
Speaking on the divorce suit, Jermaine said: “It’s obvious, I’ve been with Halima for 11 years, I still love her, things happen. She is still my wife.”
Jermaine Jackson is the elder brother of late Michael Jackson, and pregnant 50-year-old Janet Jackson.
